💡 Under Standing

Sometimes the most important things are spoken so quietly that we must choose to become still enough to hear them.

Before we can stand within ourselves, or stand before the world,
we must first learn to stand under.

To stand under is not submission.

It is humility.

It is the willingness to let something larger than ourselves teach us.

The mountain teaches by remaining still.

The trees teach by rooting deeply.

The seasons teach by changing without apology.

Nature never asks to be believed.

She simply continues.

Under standing begins when we stop trying to control every answer and become curious enough to listen.

It is recognizing that wisdom does not belong to us.

It moves through us.

The more we learn,
the more we discover how much remains unseen.

That realization is not weakness.

It is freedom.

Every teacher was once a student.

Every builder first learned from those who built before them.

Every healer first sat quietly enough to be healed.

When we are willing to stand beneath truth instead of above it,
understanding begins to grow naturally.

Like roots beneath the soil,
it is invisible long before it becomes visible.

And because it grows unseen,
it becomes strong enough to support everything that follows.

Questions Worth Carrying

• What am I resisting that may be trying to teach me?

• Where could I listen more and explain less?

• Am I seeking knowledge, or confirmation?

• What quiet lessons have I overlooked because they arrived without applause?
