🥤 Trail Drinks
Something for the journey,
and something for the pause.
A drink carried on the trail is more than something to reach for when we’re thirsty.
At altitude,
the air is dry,
the sun is close,
and even a quiet afternoon outside can ask more of us than we realize.
This little corner of the Mountain Kitchen is for drinks made to travel
cool infusions,
simple herbal blends,
refreshing waters,
and whatever else eventually finds its way into the bottle.
🥤 Trail Drinks…
The recipe cupboard is still empty.
We’re working on that. 🌿
💧 Take More Than You Think You’ll Need
Water is one of the simplest things we carry,
and one of the easiest things to underestimate.
Bring enough for the trail you planned
and a little extra for the trail you didn’t.
If you’re carrying an herbal infusion,
remember that sometimes plain water is exactly what the body wants.
Listen.
Drink.
Refill when you can.
💋 Don’t Forget Your Lip
Mountain air doesn’t stop being dry just because we’ve left the house.
Tuck Lip into a pocket before heading out.
It’s small enough to travel easily and especially welcome after wind,
sun,
and a long stretch of dry mountain air.

🌿 Perhaps Bring an Empty Bottle, Too
Not everything we drink on the trail has to come from the trail.
Wild water may look beautifully clear
and still contain microorganisms or other contaminants,
so water gathered outdoors should be properly treated before drinking.
Sometimes the best thing to bring home is simply
the memory of where the water was running.
🥾 And Then, Go
Pack your bottle.
Tuck in your Lip.
Bring something good to nibble.
And leave enough room to come home carrying a story you didn’t have when you left.
The trail will take care of the introductions. 🌿
