🌳 Merlin Tree
Some places ask us to hurry.
Some places ask us to stop.
This tree did the latter.
I never looked at it without feeling as though someone ancient was quietly watching—not with judgment, but with patience.
The bark folded into a face that seemed older than memory.
The longer I stood there, the more I wondered what stories a tree might tell if we learned to listen differently.
Perhaps it is only bark and shadow.
Perhaps it is imagination.
Or perhaps wonder itself is part of how we remember our relationship with the living world.
I don’t need to know which answer is true.
The question is enough.
